Default what mobo do i have

i have just aquired a small pc for my son to use and i want to know what the mobo can handle but theres nothing on the board at all is there a program to run for intel boards to give me all the info i want if so where can i get it. Thanks in advance

i am guessing you dont have a manual, but there sould be an ID number printed on the mobo!

i have tried anumber of programes and the info it give is hewlett packard mobo XE310 but still cant seem to find info for upgrades.

google for "XE310 motherboard" It shows that it is a
HP Vectra XE310 P5891T PC .
That should give you everything that you need to find for upgrading.

im not getting far with this at all i can find plenty of stuff relating it to HP but nothing as to what the mobo is or its specs. do hp keep secrets.ive never struggled like this. nightmare

As you can see, there's quite a few models to choose from:

They may all be using the same chipsets just different speed CPU and memory size.
