what is a free scanning program?

Hi I have lost my cd for my scanner i was just wondering what is a free program that i can use to scan images that can get put into the JPEG format?

You would need the specific software for your scanner, because it needs certain binary codes to be able to communicate with your scanner.

Tell me the make and the model of the scanner - i'll dig the drivers and software out.

You will probably at least need a driver, after that, you can just use the wizard built into Windows. That's what I use to scan my pictures, seems my software doesn't even work anymore so I don't bother with it.
