What does it mean when is says effective next to the video cards core speed. Like on some of the Evga cards it says that, whats the difference from the ones that don't have it.
it uses ddr ram (well ddr2 or ddr3 but still ddr) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_data_rate)
So the actual clock speed is, well it's the clock speed. But then there is effective clock speed because the ram basically does work 2x every cycle. So effective clock speed is always 2x the actual clock speed, because of how the ram works.
