Default Re: What do you think of this power supply?

I want to know if I could run 2 GTX260 Core 216 in SLI on my 650 power supply. I really don't want to buy a new power supply.

If you keep everything running stock and don't crank everything up I don't see any problem as long as the 650w sees a good amount of amps on the 12v rails. You don't want to have the supply pulled from simply not providing enough.

What make and model is that? The specifications will show what that offers.

Correction, the specifications seen when looking back at your original post show 18 amps for the most part. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817815001 You'll want to run them stock until you get into a heftier supply like the one seen at the link.

That's the one I own. I just want to overclock my CPU to 3.0ghz. That doesn't even require any voltage changes. So, I should be fine, right?

I would bet my life on that PSU running a 260SLi setup just fine, no matter what Atomic Rooster or Nvidia say, the 260 does not draw 182W, more like 130.

Want a supply that will take a beating for an SLI setup with 50w less? The OCZ EliteXStream 800w model can also save a little of the green stuff seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341013

Nothing like saving $60 you can use for something else later.
