Dear all (ehm).

Is it really something to worry about? Some Youtube reviews show high temps on professional coolers and without overclocking. Latest CPU's do boost so high already. Some of them even boost to 5GHz. A friend had a problem with an i5 8600K. I suggested disabling turbo boost to lower temps. No bottlenecks in games showed up (he's just a gamer) so I told him to keep it that way for now. Some re-soldered the package and got lower temps. How did Intel get pass this?

Seems screwed up to me.

Cheap thermal paste? Some just leave the lid off and put the heatsink directly on the chips.

Not sure if that's a good thing. Pressing the heat sink directly to the naked chip could cause an uneven pressure on it and damage it (one cannot lock all four clips at the same time), let alone the possibility of damaging it even if put straight right cuz of its material nature. I mean, if the lid was not needed, why would manufacturers put it and increase costs in the first place? Parts made with the least risk in mind is the way to go.
