OK, this is really weird. My mobo has a really weird problem. My computer was store bought. It has three PCI, but i just found out that the exact mobo i have (found out with EVEREST) should have an AGP 8X slot, i looked and sure enough. There are the bare metal pins, and an expansion slot on my case to go with it, but there's no plug for it. WHAT THE HELL?????????? Even EVEREST recognizes that there's a AGP 8X slot there. So i was thinking, could i mabey get a plug to go on it, and hire some crazy underground computer mole, to soulder it on for me?

so basically, it looks like this http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/show_photo/spo/pro_spo_view.php?UID=591&KIND=1 except the brown thing where the agp is supposed to be plugged into is gone and its just metal, right?

i don't think you could "soulder" it on, but you could sure search around for what to do

what i don't get is why the stor would take it off, if it was part of the mobo, interesting...

edit: wait, so that means that the fx5200 is pci; so maybe the reason was that they didn't want to put in a AGP vid card, cuz it was expensive, but that doesn't make sense

best of luck :)

Yea, it's really weird, I mean, even all of my software supports it, it's like emachines was like, hmmmmm how could we make it cheaper, oh wait i've got a great idea, YANK!!!, instantly cheaper.

ok, on that pic, the link you showed, see that little black plug, that's at the left edge of the board, about halfway between the first and second PCI plugs, it sticks out and gets in the way of my graphics card, cann i like pluck it out?

if you mean that

i don't think so, but i can't tell what it is from the pic, so don't do it

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=845GEM-L&class=mb

at their website, this is a discontinued model , the new one is 845 GVM, but their picture shows that urs should have an AGP. . .

and if they did take it out, i don't see how that was going to make it ''cheaper'', since they probably can't reuse the thing, lol

yeah, i can't tell u anything else, because i doubt you can get a slot back on there and i don't suggest taking that jumper/cable slot or whatever it is out, as it may be important to the system

again, i hope you figure it out
