weird icon on taskbar on windows ME

a friend of mine who has ME has weird icon on right side of task bar...looks like octagon that's silver arrow to right one to left..middle curved line with red tiny circles,,,,tried all spy ware scans..minimal start up programs..still won't go away

Can he try doing a system restore to before it started appearing? System restore is in accessories in the start menu.

she can't do system restore she told me for some reason.

It might be turned off. Did any recovery discs come with the computer, and did she try looking for suspicious things in add or remove programs?

It doesn't say what it is when you hover over it with the mouse? A screen shot would be good also.
