weird computer problems

Hello, About a month ago, I lost all access to the internet and my email. I called my ISP Comcast), and they tried, but could not help. I tried Dell, and got the same answer. They suggested that maybe it was my Vonage router. Called them, and it wasn't. Also, I began to slowly lose computer functions. My ROM drives stopped working, as well as my USB ports. Any way, I wound up re-installing XP. Now, the problem is that I cannot access AOL om my user account, but can on my wifes. Also I tried to access me email, only to get a message saying that i needed flashplayer7 or I would have to view my mail on Comcasts "lite web page". As before, I can check my email from my wifes account with no problem. Also, my computer just seems slower. When I watch video, it speeds up, slows down, and is "jerky". IE7 started giving me problems post re-install, so I use Firefox, which I like better anyways. Before the re-install, I used Norton's 2007. After the re-install, I use Norton 360. It was finding a "Pandex trojan" for awhile, but that has since gone away. Does anybody have the faintest idea what could be going on? I appreciate all the help. John
