well if you actually look at the versions, you dont really need all that other crap that professional and ultimate has unless u work in an office or something.

Home basic im not sure, maybe W7 home premium but i doubt it

I at least want the equivalent of home premium.
I miss when there was only one, good, version.

Yeah, thats worth considering.
Will I get a 64-bit W7?

If you buy home premium you will get the equivalent version of windows 7

You won't get downgraded. As long as you get a 64 bit you will get a 64 bit upgrade since you cant upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit or "upgrade from a 64 bit to 32 bit.

I think that the lowest version with windows 7 upgrade included is the Home premium.
