Default Re: Vista ReadyBoost?

I put a 1GB USB stick into my PC and it says that it wasn't compatible, lol. How could a 1GB memory stick be not compatible? I bought that like a year ago (Imation 1GB USB memory stick). Weird. I want to get a bigger one since I always overload the 1GB capacity. Too small to today's file size. I want the 8GB one, but it's expensive.

I believe someone a while back posted some readyboost results. The biggest impact Vista's readyboost makes are on systems with 512megs of ram. That showed the best overall increase in performance. Systems with 1gig showed some gains but nut as much as systems with only 512megs.

1.5gigs and above readyboost has no advantages.

not all memory sticks are readyboost ready.
you will see an improvement, but not as much as using proper ram obviously. its a cheap solution to give you a bit of extra speed
