right ok guys.

i had my laptop for just over 14 months then i found it was time to sell it.

so before i did i burned a vista disc, "yes i downloaded it but i have the serial no. so its not proper illegal"

n e ways i reformatted it and sold it.
it was fine for the first few days, then all of a sudden when my matre turns it on he had.

volsnap.sys is missing or corrupt, so i had to reinstall vista.
fine for a whole day lol and now
winload.exe is missing or corrupt.

now im thinking bad hardrive or bad vista c.d

but the thing is if its a bad vista c.d wouldnt it not work straight away ????

if its a bad hardrive i wont be happy coz i told him if it cocks up ill give him the money back and well i dont have the money n e more lol.

also, why doest vista have a repair option like xp's repair ??

that comes up i click startup repair and it searches for problem but it never finds any, why wont it just listen to me and when i click startup repair bloody repair the startup lol.

n e ways what do you guys think is wrong i think personally its a bad hardrive, im trying it 1 more time with a freshly burned vista c.d then if that dont work ill have to find £200 or $400 :O ouch.

click command prompt, type 1 in, press enter, type password or leave blank if none, then type chkdsk /r then try again but with chkdsk /p

should repair it

/r implies /p.

I would try a different disk maybe you just got a bad burn.

i think i know what it may be,

i think its a problem with windows updates.

everytime its gone wrong is when the laptop is on overnight.

"install updates everyday at 03:00"

thats the default setting,
