Default Virus

I left my internet connected and went out for a bit (about half an hour) and wehn i came back, my computer was locked up and norton anti-virus saids that there wasa virus in this directory>>
C:\windows\system32\Winregs32.exe
It could not repair or quarintine it so i deleted it.....is this OK?>

Sounds like a sytem file besides if it was u would probaly get a erorr saying somit like "winregs32 is missing" when u boot up, do u?

Check and see what specific virus is and see if Symantec.com has a cleaner for it.

Do a complete virus scan and see what happens.At least your still surfing.
Going to lunch should not be a concern.

If not kill norton and get AVG anti virus from www.grisoft.com (Free) it is mint.

Also check for ....

wuamgrd.exe
scrgrd.exe
wmmon32.exe
Winregs32.exe

They reside in the System32 folder ..


Next download and run Stinger.
