ok while browsing this my space group

I came upon this one called
Virtual Memory

The guy asked
"I installed a 30 gig hardrive into my computer as slave is it possible to put those 30gig as virtual memory if so then how?????"

They replied with
yes you can, but its a waste you dont need 30gb virtual memory, but if you want it
-->right click my computer
-->protities
-->Advanced tab
-->performans section settings button
-->advanced tab
-->virtual memory section chnage button
-->select drive
-->set initail and max to 30gb (its in MBs though)
-->press set
-->ok kto close it
alls done, but as youle see it says what your comp needs i like to have a little more ie 100mb`s but over that its just a waste really

My Question is this, does this mean that I could use my external 250gb hdd as virtual memory some how?

Yes, you could. BUT, the VM or page file, just slows down your computer. If you have less then 2gb of ram, you need to have it to optimize your computers performance. Although, with 2gb ram and more, you dont need the page file. And it would just be slower with your external.

If I wanted too, I could probably make it work with my little 4gb flash drive.

But see, its pretty self explanitory. And when you open up task manager.. The thing under your CPU usage, the PF or page file useage, is the VM, and you change that in the pic I showed you.

But in reference to your question, set the page file in the different of 4gb that windows will recognize. I see you have 512mb. So that means you need/should set your page file (off your local disk) to 3.5gb. Although, I have mine set for 1.5gb. Because I have a gig of ram.

lmao litterally! You can't have 30GB RAM of virtual RAM...max is 4096MB...Now, I am leaving to laugh it off...

Here, the proof
