I'm looking for a good virtual machine program for my PC. Preferrably something free. The only requirement I have is that it run under windows Vista.

Thanks

MS Virtual Machine 2k7 is free.
Sys Req's @ http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow...pc/sysreq.mspx

VMware also have a freebie somewhere on their site, not sure of sys req's though.

Goodluck,

What do you actually use the Virtual Machines for? I mean, I have heard of them, but what is their actual appeal?

I put windows 98 on mine just for kicks. I'm also putting XP and I'm going to try ubuntu to see if it works. I use it just because I'm too lazy to put another partition on my hard drive and try dual booting.

I'm doing that. I'm going to test AV software and stuff, basically do stuff that I wouldn't normally do to my OS. I might sound weird but I've always found it fun to play around with security software and see which works and what does.

I use it more for network simulations and stuff, but the possibilities are endless.
