Default Virtual allocated memory

my VRAM is set to 4096. and cant go higher either... i have a 40GB HDD so i have space but it wont allow any more the this amount.. does anyone know whats happening or how i can get it higher?

I believe non-dedicated VRAM is lent from physical RAM, no? Plus there is probably a cap. This isn't my speciality so don't take my word to be the do-all and say-all.
