Default Videos don't play?

Right a while ago I remember doing something specific and I know that specific thing must have done something to the video files or whatnot. But something I did somehow made the visual on videos, films (such as Shaun of the Dead ) not play anymore. The audio works fine, I just can't see anything.

Can someone tell me how to fix this please?

Thanks in advance.

You need the right codecs goto this website and download the codec pack
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm, if you are using Vista they are there as well.

I second VLC. Plays almost every random video file I've thrown at it.
