Ok so i recently acquired some anime episodes on my computer and for some reason i can't play them. It says the file type is "Video Clip" when the player is WMP and .avi when the player is VLC. I've no idea what to do. Please help, thanks.

Try this
ftp://ftp2.kcsoftwares.com/kcsoftwa/files/videoinspector.exe

Install it and launch it. browse for the file your trying to play. then it should show a download for the required codec.

if you have problems using it, heres the link to show you

if this doesnt work and you dont see video. turn up your speakers, do you here any audio? if you do than that means the video you have has an audio track but not a video track. which means you have a bad video file and you probably need to re-download/re-rip the video

Alright i dloaded that Video Inspector and it said i needed the XviD MPEG-4 Codec, so i dloaded that and installed, then it said i had video and audio codecs installed, but it still doesn't show the video, i do get audio though. Also, some of the episodes actually have thumbnail pics...dunno if that means anything.
