Default video problems

ok i just won a dell comp in a bid and the hd was alrdy formated so i installed windows and right after the windows loading logo the screen goes blank but it works in safemode but doesnt work in vga mode i tried installing the drivers while in safemode and also tried enabling /BASEVIDEO in msconfig boot.ini but nothing has worked im out of ideas of what to do and have no idea what to do next, anyone got any ideas?(sorry for my grammer and happy new years)

It's more likely a hardware issue, but it might pay to do another format, just incase the Windows installation was corrupted for some reason...

k thx did the quick one and still same problom also the screen that helps u set it up right after the install were u enter ur key in and stuff doesnt show eather



edit- since it now seems to be hardware im going to go buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161032 since my board is agp wish my luck thx for the help

edit- does it matter if it is agp 4x/8x? cuz a agp 4x fit in there
