An example I can think of to describe what I am looking for is when I plug a video camera into my computer via Firewire I am able to watch the edited video on the camera if I like because when I press play on the editing program it plays both on the screen and on the camera.
So I was thinking if I then connected my camera to a TV I could edit videos and watch my progress to see what it would really look like.
Is there a way I can do this without the video camera in the middle of it all. I know some video cards have video RCA oputputs, but I am assuming that outputs the whole computer screen, not just the maybe half screen video I am editing.
Also is it possible to do this same thing while watching a DVD, so the DVD is palyed through the computer but is directly outputed to a TV, without the mouse cursor or DVD controls?
