Video Driver Problem (Vista)

Setting the res is safe mode will do nothing. Safe mode settings have nothing to do with normal mode.

Setting the resolution in safe mode does affect the Windows settings. It's a common fix for when you accidentally set your resolution to something that is out of range for your monitor.

Looks like you're screwed then. LOL!

Hmm. . .
Were you inside the case any before the "upgrade" to Vista? All cables, wires and video card are firmly connected and fully seated?

It was working fine before you installed the drivers correct?

This is just odd. Even in XP the drivers default to a workable resolution when installing.

No parts were upgraded with vista. All the parts have been (and still running fine in XP) for a year. Since then i've opened and checked everything just incase. Once had the graphics card fan stop and i'd get that screen while loading any games from overheating.

Everything else about vista works, but this one driver.

For the time being i've spilt the HDD in 2, one with XP and one with Vista. Just have to screw around with it now :p

Boot into vga mode (its an option when you press F8 on boot).

Did you uninstall the old drivers before putting in the new?

Also remember, when in doubt, system restore is your friend.
