Thumbs up video cards

well i might be building a new computer soon, and im just wondering what will be faster.
it will be sort of the same setup i have now .

but what do you think is faster.
2 of these

with a xfx N680-ilt9 mobo

or 1 of these

with a asus mobo.

im not sure if i want to spend that money on 2 sli 8800gt when one gts or gtx is faster .

what do you think

Screw that, wait for the 9800GX2 to come out. MSRP $450, and it will have ~40% better performance than the 8800Ultra. And it's supposed to come out in March.

Yeah, what he said ^^^^

I don't think March is too long to wait, unless you need the pc built right away.

Doesn't make sense to me either, but that's what reports are saying.
http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/01/...force_9800gx2/
The release date got moved back, but the rest of the info is still valid as far as I know.

You have to remember that there will probably be about at least a $50 markup as with the release of any other new video card (remember the 8800GT release?)

now thats just getting stupid.
who is going to quad SLI 4 of those.

funny how much prebuilt computers rip you off.
i was in Harvy Norman yesterday(its a huge electronics store in Australia)
there was a computer for AU$3000 that was hooked up to crysis and it couldnt even play on low. i set all the settings to high . then almost blew up the computer.

and there was another one for $4500 that had quad core and sli 2 8600gt .
with some cheap ram.

but if i had 4500. i could have like 4gb ddr3 ram, 3sli 8800ultras and quad core extreme .

prebuilts are the biggest rip-offs

Just curious, why? You arent going to get a huge turnover on that almost new machine you have there, so why build a new one so quick?

How much for your current video card? lol
