Default Which video card for video editing?

Does the video card affect video editing, such as rendering, encoding, decoding, compressing, decompressing and watching AVI, DIVX, XVID, etc... encoded movies?

Because I think a Asus EN 6800GT would b adequate for video editing, maybe not 4 games, but 4 video editing... what do you think

It has some effect but I think that the cpu is the main thing in video editing.
That card should be enough for both, unless u want a card that is made for video editing. (I think that quadro fx from nVidia and then ati also had something) But those quadro fx cards are just for video editing and stuff like that, not for games.
