Default video card trouble

This is incredibly frustrating. My friend and I were comparing fps on World of Warcraft, he has a old geforce FX 5600 256 mb for vid card, and a p4 2.53 ghz processor. I have a geforce 5700le FX 256 mb vid card, and an athlon xp 3000 processor. My video card is slightly better than his, and from what i hear our processors are about the same. I put my settinsg on the same as his and I get about 18 fps, and he gets about 40 average. This is really frustrating, can anyone tell me why he gets such a better fps?

maybe you have more programs running while you play. it would probably be ad/spy-ware running in the background.

While your settings might be the same...I bet his card is overclocked to open up that much. And dishdog is right about background applications running also.
