the fact is nvidia and ati both have awesome cards. i think it's all a matter of which brand you got started on... people tend to stick with what they know works. i have had both and my next card is nvidia because thats what was suggesteed to me.

not exactly because in the begining i had an ati that was supposed to be the same as my geforce i got and oooo ati card dissapointed me couldnt even play unreal on 800x600.

The ATI vs nVidia is a fantastic thing, if only one of them ruled the games market, there would be no competition and no extra push to constantly improve things and look for better technology, I imagine we wouldn't even be seeing the 5800 or 9800 if only a single monopoly was running.
