Default Video Card Q

would a 7300GS be better than the 8500GT i have now for some games? my friend is getting a new comp and will sel me his 7300GS.

yea. the 8500 at least runs crysis. if u want a new card. consider a 8800 GT or if u cant spend that much get a 8600

Yea, the 8500GT definitely beats the 7300GS quite easily. Have a look: Benchmarks. You'll find them near the bottom of the chart.

Why is everyone still recommending the 8600 series? The ATI 3850 has made them completely obsolete.

Cost is a big factor worshipme. 8600GT's can be had for a little more than $90, whereas the 3850's start around $169.

Whoa! I never realised the 8600s were so cheap now. And you can get the 3850s for cheaper than that, around $140 if you look around.

You must have some good connections. The cheapest 3850 I could find was at ZipZoomFly for $165.99.
