Video Card / Power Supply

I just bought a radeon 1950. It has a 6 pin power connector, and my power supply doesn't have that on it. I don't wanna wait for a stupid adapter that costs two dollars, but no big retailers sell them (best buy, compusa, radioshack).
Is it really an uncommon thing? How come i'd never heard of this before?
and is my only option to order one online?

well it should have come with the vid card if you bought it retail. And I'd try some smaller computer shops, at least the one next to me had those converters

it doesn't come with it, at least not from the pictures. i got it on newegg.
and i tried smaller stores, i guess i'll try today if not i'll order one

plus, will my 420w psu be enough for a radeon 1950 and intel core 2 duo?
or should i get a better psu that has more wattage and the right connectors?

420w is enough
