Default Video card fan

I bought a video card fan from best buy,it didnt come with instructions. It has an extension with it which I used, the fan is actually blowing on the integrated gpu fan. My question is should I take the extension off and have the fan blowing on the video card board its self or should I keep the fan pointing at the video card fan?

Sorry no pictures. Basically it is a fan that is mounted in 2 expansion slots. The fan can be pointed at the video card circuit board or directly at the video cards fan. I just want to know where on the video card should this fan should point at.

Keep it pointed at the GPU.

Would you want a fan pointed at the whole motherboard or just the CPU?
Same situation there, man...
