ok now i have 2 more questions before i buy

which one of these video cards should i get:

The 2600PRO is much better than the 8500GT, well worth the extra money in my opinion.

65nm vs 80nm, 120 shader processors vs 16 (plus a higher core clock), higher memory clock with same bit-interface. All favoring the 2600PRO.

In simpler terms, it just is.

its more expensive but the rebate brings it down to the same price, but it also out performs the pro decently

no thats just how they name the cards, besides, your monitor is technically HD, higher than standard TV's at the very least.
