Default Which Video Card

I'm looking to upgrade my current 7300gs right now. For now I'm looking at a 7900 or 8600gt, but not sure which one. I'm not sure if i'm gonna be able to upgrade in the future, and want a dx10 card, but i think the performance on 7900 was better. so which one?

if you want dx10 and maybe cant upgrade later than the 8600 aint too bad. there performance isnt as good as one would think but its good enough for all the current games at mid to high settings. still cant figure out why they put a 128 bit memory bus on it. nVidia is just SO stupid sometimes

i don't have vista yet, but i'm gonna be getting it soon. i heard that the 8600 is not that fast, but can play games at mid to high like rudster said. i don't need too high performance. does anyone know when the first few dx10 games will be coming out? if it is not too soon, then i'll be able to upgrade later. or i might just not get a new psu and get a 8800 instead
