6800gt is much better especiallly if u run it in SLi. u wont get dat much high fps on doom 3 or half life 2

GPU is so way ahead of CPU. Pretty much any CPU except for an FX-55 or 57 is going to be bottlenecked. Any CPU will work though, but not to the cards full potential. So get the best CPU you can afford.

Your processor willn't bottleneck your video card that much if you are playing at high resolutions. If you play at lower resolutions then there will be more of a bottleneck.

So did I...
At a lower resoloution, your card doesn't have to work its self as hard as if at a higher resoloution, so that should use your CPU less.
