Default vid cable question

im looking to get a new graphics card as part of an upgrade for my comp. the card has a dvi-d and an hdmi output. would there be a noticeable difference if i were to go dvi(card) to dvi(monitor) or hdmi(card) to dvi(monitor) eg the monitor doesnt have a hdmi plug-in

just wondering what cable i should buy, currently using vga(only one it came with)

dvi to dvi

dvi to hdmi

My setup: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+, 2Gb A-data ddr800, MSI K9A2 CF 790X, MSI 2600XT T2D512EZ, Samsung DVD-RW, Ultra 500W PS Vseries, Maxtor 80Gb, Aspire Mid-tower case, Windows xp Home, Westinghouse 19" LCD

Default Re: vid cable question

The DVI cable would be best. Being that your monitor only has DVI, the HDMI to DVI cable wont give a better picture.
