Default VIA raid tool?

hey all
yeh just wondering what this software does, all I know is it stands for redundant arrays of inexpensive disks. Any information would be great!

It's a PCI controller card to which you connect two or more hard disks, the ide being that what's saved on one disk is automatically saved on the other disk as a full backup. Should one disk fail, the other one can take it place. That's putting it in very simple tems 'cos there are many different ways that RAID can be set up, but essentially it provides automated and continuous backup. Mostly used by big companies.
