Default VGA, Blu Ray, HD questions

I did some googlefu and got alot of mixed answers or they were old answers.

I read on another site VGA doesnt play blu-ray because blu ray is digital.

Why am i asking...Right now I have 2 DVD players in the house that are "upscaling" to 1080 that i bought RIGHT before the blu-ray craze so they dont play HD or blu ray format (I plan to upgrade in the future when prices come down).

So I had the idea if I put a Bluray or HD drive into the PC I can have that option available for a lower cost. I saw one the other day for about 79 bucks after discount.

Does VGA support High Def format? I dont have a HDMI plug on my graphics card. Or maybe I can sell my graphics card which is about 2 days old and upgrade to a HDMI one.

Talk some sense into me.

Thanks

It's a mixed bag. Blu-ray needs to have a certain encryption scheme that isn't compatible with VGA signals. It's not because it's simply digital.
