Default Very weird problem

i turned my computer on to find that the internet had stopped working.vista then tried to repair the problem which was a malfunctioning network card (the reason it gave) the computer then rebooted and appeared to have sorted the problem. the internet works with both 64bit versions of firefox and IE the problem i have is that the internet doesnt want to work with 32bit firefox or IE. i have tried reinstalling both 32bit versions of firefox and IE (updating to IE8 beta) but no luck. it wouldnt bother me if flash worked in the 64bit version which is my only trouble with it. does anyone have any suggestions even other 32bit internet browsers i could try out?

EDIT: i have virus scanned with NOD32, no luck and adaware 2007 and spybot with no luck.

I take it you are dual booting Vista x64 and Vista x32?

Do you have the latest NIC drivers installed in Vista x32?

i had the exact same problem , it wouldn't work in firefox or normal ie but it would in 64bit IE.
i got this problem after i updated to IE8 beta.
eventually i fixed it , but i had to reformat vista, its a pain in the ass but not the end of the world
