Using SATA Hard Drives...

Ok, I just put it in (used the SATA power cables from the PSU, even though it has regular power input too), and I went into Windows XP install and all went fine; it recognized the drive size and everything. Then, when I got to the part where I put "install Windows on selected partition", it asked me to format the NTFS filesystem. I pressed ok, and the drive started making high pitched squeaky clicky noises... And the format made no progress at all.

Any ideas what that is?

That is wierd. Sounds like you have a bad hard drive already from the noise you're explaining. Reboot and try again.
