Default used computer help

i recently bought a computer that doesn't work from a a friend and I was wandering if there is any way to test the mobo and processor to rule out which one is bad. The problem is that when ever I turn the computer on the cpu fan and power supply fan spin but that is it. the hard drive does not spin up there is nothing on the screen. I already took the power supply, ram, and the hard drive and put them in a different computer and works fine. it is an intel P4 processor and the mobo is an abit is-10. thanks for reading

Then it's probably the motherboard. Pull all of the addon card out, and try it again.
