Default USB keyboard converted to serial port?

I got me a bit of a problem here.

So I have a computer here that presumes all USB devices.

I have a keyboard, that's with non-usb head. You computer-whiz guys prolly know the types

Anyway, I got a converter here that turns that gizmo head in to a serial female.

So, only slot that fits then is the Serial port 1.

I'm just going by what fits where n so on, not really knowing what I'm doing. Anyway, it doesn't respond that way. Do I need to do some whiz setup somewhere to activate it?

Normally if it were just up to windows settings, it'd work in bios, but it doesn't. Any ideas?

There should be a PS/2 port on the computer for the keyboard. I don't think I have ever seen a motherboard without one.

They look like this:

The purple one is the keyboard port and the green one is for the mouse.

Wow! What kind of computer is it? I've never seen a newer system without those ports.

If it's an older system, does it have an AT port like this?

The adapter on the right side is a PS/2 to AT keyboard adapter.
