Default USB Flash Drive not reconized

My 97 Gateway doesent reconize a flash drive i am getting XP so you think it will solve the problem and if not how can i fix it.

It might just be the flash drive is corrupted

XP might fix it becuase i am guessing you are using windows 97. Ancient....

You would need drivers if you want to use it with an OS that old.

This flash drive u use is probably for win 2000, xp and above...

what os are you using right now? (im guessing 97 is the year the pc was bought/made/model? because theres no windows 97 lol).
anything below windows 2000 might cause problems, so you need drivers. xp is far better anyway, so its worth upgrading anyway.

have you tried it on other computer? its either you need a driver or the falsh drive is not working. or may it is disable in the BIOS
