Default USB drive enclosure

Hallo : since I can't get my new VISTA system to boot with my old slave installed internally I got a USB drive enclosure.
The system doesn't recognize the drive at all. It doesn't show up in My Computer or even when I go to MANAGE.

When I try to reboot, the same thing happens .... VISTA doesn't boot completely ... just like when I have the drive installed internally. VISTA won't even shut down with thew drive on. It just hangs up at the " SHUTTING DOWN" screen. It only shuts down when I turn the drive enclosure power off.

And yes, everything works fine on my old computer.

Help please .......
