upgrading to ssd drive in my laptop ?

hello all,

I have a...

Compaq cq62-209wm laptop.
218gb hard drive.
I have upgrades to 8gb memory ( it had 4gb)
im going to get a bigger ( more run time ) battery.

ok I did a search and found this..
240GB, 2.5-inch Solid State Drive, upgrades for HP - Compaq Presario CQ62-209WM Laptop/Notebook, CT3785949 from Crucial.com

its a 240gb ssd drive. and its says its for this computer.

my ? is...
is there a bigger like (480gb) ssd drive I can use ??

what would you guys recommend?

Sure there are, here's an example: SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD500BW 2.5" 500GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - Newegg.com. The problem with larger ssd drives is that they are significantly more expensive than their mechanical equivalent. Only you can decide for yourself if having that big a drive in your laptop is worth almost $600. Is the laptop you have even worth that much?

BTW, you don't need to worry that a particular drive says it is compatible with your laptop. As long as the drive is a 2.5" form factor SATA drive, you're good to go.

If I was you I would get a alright size ssd (240gb) and go for An external hard drive

I agree, If you will be only storing the OS and other programs on their then 240GB will be plenty..

wow that big money.
i think ill do what you guys say. it wil be cheaper plus i really don't need that big of a drive.
