Default Upgrading Processor

I have an AMD Athlon x2 64 2.6 Ghz 5000 AM2 socket type. can i use any AM2 socket type?

Supports the following processors:
Athlon 64 X2 with Dual Core technology up to 5600+ (up to 89 watt)
Athlon 64 less than 4000+
Sempron less than 4000+

What video card do you have? You might do better replacing it.

8600GTS 512mb
i also bumped it up to 4 gig corsair from the original 3gig.
and got 600w PSU. I just want it faster but I'm think i need to start fresh. and sell this rig.

Get a better video card, like a 4670.

It will make your performance skyrocket.
