I agree with you on the 9800GTX! I have a 9800GTX+ on my current rig, and I get amazing results at MAX everything, and the card was only 119.99 via Newegg. As for the memory, 4GB is HIGHLY recommended for Vista, or if you get W7 RC 4GB is recommended as well.
