Default upgrading my computer

I have a Dell Computer Corporation Dimension 4600i and the specs on it are as follows:
3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
16 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Not hyper-threaded
1536 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory
Slot 'CHANNEL A DIMM 0' has 256 MB
Slot 'CHANNEL B DIMM 0' has 1024 MB
Slot 'CHANNEL A DIMM 1' has 256 MB
Slot 'CHANNEL B DIMM 1' is Empty
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 [Display adapter]
DELL 1707FP [Monitor] (17.1"vis, s/n 6418068800JC, August 2006)

Can I upgrade this computer with another motherboard to go dual or quad core?
What video card would you recommend for this computer?

Just be sure that everything is compatible, do some research.

I am currently using a dual core, and loving the speed of it. It only runs at 2.0GHz but that does the job plenty.

Need some PHP questions answered? Give me a PM and I will see what I can do.

sell your computer and then use the money to buy yourself a newer system, you should be able to pick up a better computer for 200-300usd
