Default Upgrading memory

Hi my computers max memory is 2gb but I am thinking of getting 1 gb because I have a 256 mb ram so I am wondering is it true that if I upgrade to the max it slows it down rather than speed it up and what are the speed increases that I will see?

It's not true, no. You will notice more of an increase than you will decrease. If you have 256 now, and you upgrade to 1.25GB, you will notice a BIG difference.

only if he started to do things that require more RAM.
From what i noticed, i only get performance when i get more ram is when i start to multitask, but if all i do is go online, then i wouldnt see any performance.
