Default Upgrading Low End 2006 Desktop

I'm looking to upgrade my desktop from 2006 for some low to mid performance gaming (RuneScape, Minecraft, TOR, LOTRO) and have $265 to spend including shipping. I have all peripherals and a hard drive that I hope to transfer from the current system to the next as well as a CD drive.

Core Speed - 2210.1 MHz
Bus Speed - 200.9 MHz

Mainboard
Manufacturer - ASUSTeK Computer INC.
Model- A8N-VM-CSM Rev1.xx
NViDIA GeForce 6150 Chipset
NVIDIA nForce 410/430 MCP Southbridge
Graphic Interface Version- PCI-Express
Link Width: x16
Max. Supported x16

Memory
Type - DDR
Size- 1024 MBytes
DRAM Frequency- 200.9 MHz

DirectX Version- DirectX 9.0c
Device Name- NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
Approx Memory - 512.0 MB
Main Driver - nv4_disp.dll

I was told to look for CPU/Mobo/RAM combos, but I haven't been able to find these packages. Can you give me some suggestions on

1) How to tell what my current chassis is (I'm looking into this now)

Edit: The chassis is an Antec Atlas 550

2) Give me possible upgrades (Right now I'm looking at just removing the guts and starting fresh)

I've gone for performance and price and manged to find a nice setup ... it'll even run the latest on mid I suppose

Intel E5800 Dual Core 3.2GHz CPU + 4GB DDR3 RAM + HDMI Motherboard COMBO | eBay

XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 (HD-577A-ZHFC) 1 GB w lifetime warranty | eBay

or with returns

Intel E5700 3.0Ghz Pentium Dual Core CPU Motherboard 4GB DDR3 RAM Combo New | eBay

If you can push the price, altho no returns the second guy has good feedback and it's still under 1yr warranty.

I'm expecting you to have the psu, hard drive, screen and accessories

I remember I use to play runescape lol, my name : InventD lol

long time since then

That setup is just a little bit out of my price range.
Moved my paycheck to PayPal and I'm sitting at exactly $250.

Can you lower the specs and price just slightly?
Secondly, what kind of PSU and HDD does a setup need?

for your use, you're most likely to try out games aswell, so I suggest 580watt+ and HDD just for games and music, 160gb, you'd get around 8games+plenty of music and files on that size..

NEW AMD PHENOM X3 8650 CPU MSI MOTHERBOARD COMBO KIT | eBay

$145+Shipping

Gigabyte (GV-R667D3-1GI) GV R667D3-1GI - Graphics adapter - Radeon HD 6670 - ... | eBay

$90+Shipping

But you'll need memory.. umm, this is cutting it, any chance you can get extra $

The current PSU I have is an Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-350 350W ATX12V.
I was planning on taking the 1GB of RAM that I have and using it in my new build, but if that doesn't work I can try to get more cash. How much would be necessary to make the build work?

you could do this alternatively and play at decent enough

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.2 GHz ADA4400DAA6CD Socket 939 | eBay

with another 2gb so you'll have 3gb

2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 400MHz DDR 184-pin Desktop Memory Crucial | eBay

and

Gigabyte (GV-R667D3-1GI) GV R667D3-1GI - Graphics adapter - Radeon HD 6670 - ... | eBay

psu

Hercules Black ATX Dual Fan 600W Silent Power Supply PSU w/20-24pin SATA PCI-E | eBay

total :$223

and is all compatible with your setup.

all good feedback and all are returns incase faulty

So, to make the build work I would need:

-The RAM listed above with my 1GB current RAM
-Raedon HD 6670
-Hercules PSU
-AMD Athlon 64

And would I install that to my current Mobo, or would I need to buy a new one?
