How about this?

The reviews say that the fan hits the plastic shroud at high speeds but that is easily removable.

That's a good price. I don't know anything about MSI's cooler though. How about this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125088- Comes with a Zalman cooler. Unfortunatly they don't have any Gainwards at Newegg.

apparently people had issues with the ram cooling and the factory oc, and there were only 5 reviews, i would prefer a card that more people gave feedback on. too bad, when you said zalman cooler i got excited.

How about an EVGA. They're a very good brand.

if i remember correctly they dont make any cards that dont use the nvidia refrence cooler (which sucks). but thanks to you i went to the manufacturer site and they have a new "AKIMBO" 8800GT series with an improved, 2 slot cooler. http://www.evga.com/articles/393.asp ....thanks for inspiring me to go to their site, now i just have to find a place who has them in stock. otherwise i will just get a different evga 8800gt (w/ ref. cooler) and put their akimbo dual slot fan upgrade kit on it.

+1 for inspiring me to find this!

No problem man. Guess I did it by accident lol. Can you explain to me what exactly this this dual slot fan is? I'm not sure I quite understand it. I can't research it now as I have a history test tomorrow and I need to review for that.

A dual slot fan is one that takes up the space of the neighboring slot next to the video card. Here's an example:

Notice how the video card has two slot tabs. One for the video card outputs and another for the cooler.

Oh I understand. And with that extra slot taken up it means that you get much much better cooling right?

Correct. It has a greater cooling area and a larger fan capable of moving much more air than a standard cooler.

Well with 7 slots I don't think that's much of a loss.
