I currently am running the intel p4 prescott 2.4 prossesor. I just bought a intel p4 2.8 with HT.
I already checked to see if it will work with my chipset (motherboard)
I am very confused on how to put this new chip in. Will I have to change anything in the bios? Can somebody direct me in the right direction for help. Thank you.

depends on the mobo...
refer to the manual and also wouldnt be a to get some cooling compound if you did buy a processor with no fan.

All you have to do is remove the heatsink from the old chip. Pull the little lever that allows you to take out the old cpu.

Put the new one in then close the lever put thermalpaste on the new cpu and reattach the heatsink.

If you are getting a retail one. Use the fan that came with it and it should come with more detailed instructions.
