The AGP interface is faster than a PCI interface but any PCI GPU is going to supersede the on-board graphics you have.

How much do you want to spend on a graphics card?

Intel Integrated Graphics--the facts and the myths

Scroll down a bit to where it lists "Integrated Intel® 3D with Direct AGP".

There's this too...

AGP vs. PCI in the Real World.

Why haven't you bought a new computer? You're going to spend more money buying a GeForce 2 than it would cost you to get a 7200.

I never get why people do that - They settle for less. Where would you even FIND a GeForce2 these days? No where.

Just build or buy a new computer.

Actualy you can buy GeForce 2 from Ebay.com Ebay has alot of older video cards for sale. Some are new and some are used.

But eather way does this mean that my AGP card is actualy worse than a TNT 2 video card that is a PCI type card and has 32mb ram? I kinda find that hard to beleve that the Intel AGP card is that low end since I thought all AGP cards even the lower end was were better than PCI cards that had the same amount of ram. I actualy at first thought that maybe my AGP card was better than all PCI cards since PCI is slower and older.

Well is there anything good about the AGP card that I have? I mean come to think of it it can't be that bad since after all it's still AGP2X which is alot faster than PCI.

Interface makes no difference on your card. It could be PCI and it would make zero difference.

I am concused with what you are trying to do. It seems like you just want to upgrade for the sake of upgrading, not because you need it.

I don't think I can stress this enough.

[YOU DON'T USE AN AGP CARD. YOU'RE GRAPHICS ARE ONBOARD, THUS, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING,

--- IS BETTER THAN YOUR CURRENT ONBOARD GRAPHICS.

Edit: You've lost the concept:

PCI and AGP are simply doors, if you will. PCI is the door to a small coat closet, while AGP is the door to your bedroom. PCI-E is a set of double-doors. The interface is for BANDWIDTH. Speed, yes, but mostly bandwidth. The GPU is what you should be looking at - The strength of the GPU. Bus doesn't even matter.

He does not have an AGP video card. His computer uses the integrated Intel DirectAGP 3D graphics chip. It is entirely dependent on the CPU for it's graphics processing. It also has no AGP slot, only PCI slots.

Also, you're making the assumption that the amount of VRAM makes a performance difference on a set resolution.. With newer games that have lots of objects and decals on the screen, yes. But only at certain resolutions. The larger resolution you use, the more VRAM you are going to want/need.

A 9500GT with 1GB would get outperformed by a 9600 with 512MB.
