Point well taken. I don't think that "clock for clock" they are any different.

That's what I was thinking. Besides a couple of extra server features, I think they perform identically to their Core 2 Duo counterparts. I can't say the same for their dedicated server sockets though.

True, but I've searched around and haven't found any evidence indicating that The E3110 should perform worse than the E8400 in a gaming environment.
They're identical, don't worry about it.
