upgrading my store bought pc

I have a compaq s3200 nx with an amd athlon xp 2 ghz processor. I want to upgrade it so it can easily handle video editing. This was a relatively low end pc when I bought it, so I was wondering if it was possible to replace the motherboard, would that help speed things up; and also if I a new graphics card will work. Should all motherboards have a slot for a graphics chip? This is probably a 2 year old computer, and I don't want to have to buy a new one.

A new vid card will work if ur mobo has the same type of connection. (agp 4x/8x, pci, pci-e) And yes I think that u can buy a new mobo. Just make sure it fit's ur case, supports ur ram and has the same socket as ur processor does.
